What is an eBike?
An eBike, also known as an electric bike, is a bike that has an electric motor included in the body of the bike. The inclusion of the motor allows the rider to ride as if they were using a non-electric bike, however should the rider wish, they can use the power of the motor to add extra assistance to their pedaling.
Why would I want an eBike?
eBikes are great for a number of reasons! For those of you who live near your workplace, an eBike can be an excellent option to get you to and from work! It saves you the hassle of sitting in peak hour traffic, and gives you the chance to enjoy the morning before starting your working day! An eBike can also be an excellent addition to your fitness and exercise routines.

How do eBikes work?
An eBike is similar to a regular bike. It has a similar frame, two pedals and a handlebar. The main difference is that there is a motor built in to the bike, which allows the rider the option of either pedaling as they would a regular bike, or using the motor to add extra power to their ride.
How do I charge an eBike?
Our eBikes come with an external charger that plugs into a power socket. They are very similar to other electronic appliances.
How far will I be able to go on a single charge?

How long does it take for an eBike to reach a full charge?

Do I need a licence to ride an eBike?
The great thing about eBikes is that they do not require the rider to hold a licence to use them! As well as this, they are not required to be registered.
Do the EBikes sold at Freedom EBikes come with a bottle holder?
Freedom EBikes have a bottle holder built into the frame of the electric bike.
Are they safe to use in all weather conditions?
Yes, eBikes will continue to work through all weather conditions. Rain will not affect the body of the eBike or the motor, however we urge our customers to exercise caution and use their discretion when deciding whether to use their eBike in certain weather conditions.
Will the eBike attach to the bike racks on the back of my car?

Can I purchase an additional battery?
Yes, you can purchase an additional battery.
How do I know if I am choosing the best eBike for me?
The reason that we have decided to only offer a limited number of choices in regards to eBikes is that we don’t want to overwhelm you with too many choices! If you are not too sure what eBike would be the perfect fit for you, send us an email with your height, your weight, and what you will primarily using the eBike for, and we will help you to find the perfect eBike for you!
Is there a warranty included with the eBikes?
TBA – possibly 12 months but need to double check.
Do they have different gears?
Yes! eBikes come with gears that you can alter based on where you are riding.
How fast will they go?
Although eBikes are able to reach speeds of up to 38km/h with electric power alone, in Australia eBikes are only permitted to reach a maximum of 25km/h. The eBikes come equipped with a digital display which will tell you the speed the eBike is travelling at!
